Bernar Venet Professional Development Class
Through sponsorship from the Sugar Land Parks & Rec, Shape Up Sugar Land, the McClain Gallery and the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts (TFAA), Fort Bend ISD is offering a professional development class on Oct. 1st, 2011 open to all levels Art, Math, Science and French teachers. The goal is for the Bernar Venet sculptures to have as much exposure as possible while they are here in Sugar Land, and so the invitation is extended to outside school district’s art, math, science and French teachers as well.

Time: 8 am – 12pm
Location: Clements HS in Fort Bend ISD, Room 1601
Participants will learn about modern sculptor Bernar Venet and his artwork. They will receive information on and participate in hands-on activities that integrate foreign language (French), math, science and art to use in their classroom. Participants will then go on an interactive scavenger hunt at Oyster Creek Park using Venet's sculptures to enhance the classroom lesson (with potential to win some great prizes from Shape Up Sugar Land). There will be coffee & juice in the morning and lunch provided by Whole Foods as well.
