"Une soirée à Lyon via Houston"

Artists, choregraphers, musicians, directors, and writers from Lyon and the Rhones-Alpes region will descend on Houston April 21-29 for exhibitions and performances. In 2006 Houstonians will return the favor in Lyon. Among the 380 guests stepping out the high fashion were honorary chair Lynn Wyatt, the ambassador's wife Marie-Cécile Levitte, Adelaide de Menil, in from New York; French Consul Général Denis Simonneau and his wife Hélene; and Rania and Jamal Daniel. Highlight of the evening was the gourmet dinner overseen by French chef Patrick Henrioux of the two-star Michelin restaurant "La Pyramide" in Vienne, France and Hilton executive chef Didier Dessemond.
A certain "joie de vivre" permeated the Hilton Americas Houston Ballroom last week when French culture was celebrated at "Une soirée à Lyon Via Houston."
The evening was a launch for the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts, a push for cultural exchange officially announced at the Gala by French Ambassador Jean-David Levitte, who served as Honorary gala chair.
