“Inspiration” - Acrylic on Canvas - Anne-Laure Lavagna
Art Bright Night has been originally designed by Anne-Laure Lavagna, a French painter who has resided in Houston for four years. Anne-Laure has already exhibited her brightly colored and highly energetic abstract artwork in a number of venues in France, Monaco and Texas.
With Art Bright Night, Anne-Laure combines a solo exhibition of recent paintings (made during this current 2010 Advent time which precedes Christmas), to a piano/voice chamber music recital. The music part will feature the French pianist Claire Foison-Béchu and the American soprano coloratura Cherise Lukow, who both live in Paris. The musicians will be in Houston for a unique performance in the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord (Katy), on December Tuesday 21 at 7:30 pm.
Art Bright Night recital will present piano pieces by Franz Liszt (Mephisto-Valse nr. 1) and Maurice Ravel (Valses nobles et sentimentales), as well as various songs and opera excerpts by Claude Debussy, Jules Massenet and Leo Delibes. The evening will carry a special Christmas spirit, thanks to Anne-Laure’s “Advent series” paintings, to the inspiring beauty of the music, and to several numbers especially prepared by the musicians to celebrate the festive season.
This unique Franco-American production has been made possible by the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts, the Franco-American Vocal Academy, and naturally the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord, Katy, which kindly hosts the 1st Art Bright Night.
